JUST-IN-TIME APPROACH: THEORETICAL
BASIS AND OUTCOMES
Just-in-time
approach is the need of the hour with its novel employment of hi tech and
modern cyber space resources to revolutionize the arena of learning and
education. It employs assignment of series based conceptual warm ups or puzzles
like exercises that the students completes and submits prior to the actual
class. The problem solving framework works for relatable questionnaire and
invokes thought and conception related to the topic and hence results in a more
focused and productive session.
It
was first of all invented to overcome the tricky physics at university level in
around 1990s and has gathered popularity since then due to its very effective
results. That is the results it is being widely employed and implemented at
diversified levels of education to develop and promote cognitive learning that
would be actually a better and less laboring approach compared to the mundane
conventional customary class room teaching.

It
is very useful in High schools and college level as the pupils are well exposed
and more than comfortable with accessing web space and resources for the
submission of relatable exercises and this is easier to get involved in
considering the fact that they deal with the technology used in the novel
approach on a customary basis. It is not only more hassle free but also save s
a lot of time which would have been otherwise wasted going around covering
topics which the students have now mastered on their own.
It
not only makes use of the technical and cognitive part of the brain but also encourages
the pupil in a very enthusiastic and positive manner considering the fact that
it gives them a feeling of special treatment and there is hardly any retarding
competition to worry about and the students are pushed forward to excel at
their own particular and personal levels. Reference has been provided by Novak, GN,
Patterson, ET, Gavrin, A, and Christian, W (1999), Just-in-Time Teaching: Blending active Learning and Web Technology,
Saddle River, NJ: Prentice Hall. ISBN 0-13-085034-9
It
brings about a major conceptual and visionary and radical amendment in the
education system which is but the need of the hour. Proper usage and
implementation of suggestive warm ups and questionnaires only guides and
motivates the pupils towards thinking in a more efficient and focused yet
conceptual manner developing their overall approach towards problem solving.
This approach clarifies with readdressing several misconceptions and taboos
related to basic fields of physic, chemistry and biology. E.g. Camp, ME.,
