JUST-IN-TIME TEACHING PEDAGOGY

JUST-IN-TIME TEACHING PEDAGOGY
Just-in-time or more popular as JiTT is a novel learning and education approach specially blueprinted keeping in mind the most productive ways of harnessing effective teaching through modern modus operandi. It was contrived and implemented by Gregor Novak and colleagues. Pupils are provided with propositions prior attending schools from various resources including cyber space and they have to submit the corresponding assignments given to them which the mentor analyses before the commencement of the school and plans the hierarchal flow of the following lesson similarly. Multiple conception provoking and convention related incidents are used a suggestive examples so that the pupils can not only effortlessly relate to the question but also willingly get involved in the problem cracking. In the school that follows, they are mentored at a more accomplished level with propositions that require more focus and diligence and hence are ably guided by the teachers who can now easily evaluate the weak as well as the strong points of the pupils so as to decide what points are to be given more attention with respect to the overall caliber of the school. E.g. Video available on how to use JiTT in Economics
Numerous varying JiTT assignments are devised to carry out the execution of the rubric successfully like:
  1. Warm Up- These refer to compact cyber space focused drills for the pupils to submit to the mentor before the school commences which is supposed to attract the focus and attention of the pupils towards the proposition to be covered in the school which would then result in a more thorough and conceptual understanding of the same. In this way, the time that is spent in the school can be more meticulously utilized with the background work having been done prior to the same. e.g.  Web Science based Projects at IUPUI

  1. Puzzles- These are framed cyber space based work outs to assess the propositions that have already been taught in the schools to cover if necessary any tough propositions or so.

  1. Good fors- These are beneficial essays that help the pupils relate the technical and educational propositions taught in the school to real life situations and to keep the learning part interactive and interesting.

The device enunciates on being interactive and attaining maximum involvement of the pupils the completion of the proposition with its two ways process of cyber space focused study materials incorporated into conventional school room teachings.
